The Initiator
Roy Westall, the initiator of this project, gave up his long career in the chemical industry after he was told that he had three brain tumours and only a few weeks to live. As a therapy he started writing, and three years later his first book was published. Now, twenty-one years later, he is a qualified science teacher and has taught in many primary, secondary and special needs schools, both in this country and overseas. He continues to write books but also publishes those written by him and other authors under the imprint Reword Publishers. To see a list of his published books please click on the icon in the bottom right corner.
He has been elected a member of the prestigious Society of Authors, and is a member of the National Association of Writers in Education.
Writing is now recognised as an excellent form of therapy for people who have had a crisis in their lives. Roy Westall wishes to use his own experience to help such people, by encouraging them to write their story. Although he is a member of Stockport Public Health Network, a consortium of his Local Authority and the NHS, he does not offer any advise, medical or otherwise. For help please contact the Support Agencies.
